Functional Bodybuilding 101 is here! Join us online for this introductory course with 6x CrossFit Games athlete Marcus Filly of Revival Strength, and Mike Lee, Marcus’s coach at OPEX. This course will show you how to approach a training program that balances aesthetics and function, emphasizing quality of movement and connection with your body. Learn how to apply these concepts to movement progressions to learn new skills, correct imbalances, and develop work capacity without overtraining.

Marcus Filly is a 6x CrossFit Games athlete (2016 12th fittest) and captain of the Phoenix Rise in the NPGL. For two years he has been voted to the all GRID league team, in 2016 earning 1st team honors, and in 2015 earning the award for leadership excellence. Marcus has an extensive training background and has also competed in baseball, golf, and Division 1 collegiate soccer.
 
Marcus’s passion for helping others live healthy lives led him partway through medical school, until he turned his career focus to coaching. He was formerly a CrossFit facility owner for 5 years, has completed all 5 of the OPEX CCP courses, and has coached clients from all over the world, including Games and Regionals athletes. Marcus currently leads a team of coaches at Revival Strength in San Rafael, CA, who design individual programs for clients both remotely and onsite that include training, nutrition, and lifestyle support for a diverse range of athletes. He is also the creator of Awaken Training Series, a twelve-week online group program using functional bodybuilding principles.
